Food for thought...

Sometimes it takes one to step out of one's current situation to see the big picture and what's really going on.

Yeah, i admit i was very narrow in my scope in terms of goals, observation and whatever else in the past, and still am right now.

But thinking things through and pondering on what i want to achieve out of my career, and my life, and also what is it that is meaningful to me in my life has sorta make me clearer. Okay, though not a lot, but still, a bit is better than nothing rite? Haha..

I suddenly also understand truly that having goals in life really give life a very meaningful purpose. And i also finally get what it means by a person with goals will be more successful than a person without. Because a person with no direction has no clear motivation to succeed either. Hmmm...

I also finally understood why my sec sch friend pf suddenly shot up to become the top scholar of my swiss, when we 2 were almost on par during sec 1 & 2. She had long term goals.. she told me she aspires to be a zoologist or a marine biologist when we were sec 1!! (That time i only think of results, that's the furthest man.)

In any case, I am really thankful for having friends around me who make me realise that, especially ahgong (who alr kan tou hong cheng long ago and taught me to see the big picture of things, tho it takes quite awhile la huh. =X). HAha! I must also thank NUS education which put me through rigorous readings of journals that i actually find non-fiction books readable for the first time (Cos i've alr gone through the worst!). And i also thank myself for choosing psychology as a major (lolx..), and being in FASS (ok, mayb tt's not much of a choice, heh.). Cos i never regretted taking it and it allows me to discover my interest in social science~

Because my first choice is actually biz, and I used to like numbers and enjoy doing accounts. Even during primary school, when the teacher asked, i told her i want to be a business woman. lol... (Cos back then i alr know i don't like being a conventional teacher, lawyer or doctor.) And still thought i'm going to be that until i entered m1 and uni, and after taking the marketing module i'm totally convinced that the business world is simply not for me. I definitely can't handle the strong competition and high levels of office politics in biz world. And for accounts and finance, suddenly they all seem boring to me. Though it is still fun and satisfying to solve maths problems and balancing accounts, i don't think i want to spend my whole life just dealing with numbers.

Am happy i finally have some direction to what i want. But how many people in this world get to do what they like as a career? Plus it's kinda little late for me to receive higher training for it since i've graduated. But then again, late is better than never rite? heh..

Wish me luck in job search!! :D

CiaoS~

PS: Hey people, can update your blogs? I'm so bored of reading the same thing lar.. haha...

Thoughts on flaws, criticisms and transparency...

Recent spate of events has set me thinking...

Why am i so prone to criticisms by others? Especially by friends, which is even worse.

Don't criticise others and you won't be criticise by others??
The thing is I usually don't criticise others at all, so why this critical treatment??
And its not because they are flawless or perfect sia.
But because i chose to keep quiet about it, not wanting to disturb the peaceful relationship.

But i just realised this "don't criticise others if you don't want to be criticised" theory don't work at all. If you don't criticise others, others would do that to you. And if you keep quiet and be nice to others, they would think they don't have as much flaws as you and that sorta give them the right to talk about you critically.

Treating others considerately may not equate to others giving you a similar treatment after all. So, why bother trying so hard to be so considerate, tactful and nice towards them when they don't even give a heck?

Defence! Why bear the insult?
When someone passed me a negative remark, i used to think "why bother to cover these flaws? After all, they are good friends already, and they probably have good intentions to change me for the better." Or when someone joked about my flaws, i used to think "it's okay, they are just kidding, no harm. Don't make a mountain out of a molehill".

But no, i realised if you keep quiet and don't defend yourself on the spot, others will think that you admit and agreed with them. That little little harm may thus accumulate to the mountain, when negative remarks and jokes occurs at higher frequency, at a greater level, and even to the point of hurtful insult. I sometimes wonder, what are they thinking? With increasing hurtful comments, are they trying to test my threshold of tolerance, or do they want to see my response when i reach that threshold? And recently that threshold has been greatly lowered, and if i do reach it, it's definitely not gonna be pretty.

And the part about their good intention? Nah... i realised (sadly) that most people criticise just so they can feel good about themselves, like putting others down while boosting their self-confidence or something. After all feeling good about oneself is the very most basic goal of every human, consciously or subconsciously (cited from ET's notes, thus not a sweeping statement). And also, if they really have good intentions, where's their good advice? Why only a truck full of criticisms but no suggestions or solutions to the problem?? Not only that, the tone of that person also tells a lot. Even a fool can differentiate between concern and plain mocking.

Transparency: Displaying too much of yourself?
Again, i used to think i really do have many flaws...while others seem to be flawless. Everyone has flaws. But perhaps, my main big flaw is that i'm super transparent to others that i don't really hide my unglam, my bad habits, and my whatever other flaws to others. While on the other hand, those seemingly "flawless others" are very good in hiding or "justifying" their own negative points. And because my flaws are known, others tend to up-play them, making them more salient to everyone else, including me, while they cover theirs well. For many years i foolishly believe in it, and that's probably why i lost confidence in myself along the way.

Yup, but a good number of events and some people has taught me not to reveal too much to another, esp flaws. And being nice is only for people who are nice to you. Being nice to someone who isn't to you is no longer called magnanimity, but now seen as foolishness, even to that same not nice someone whom you treat nicely.

Of course these are just my thoughts, and venting of my frustration. So there's no need to spark up a debate or anything. And it's not refering to a specific someone, but about a couple of events in general. May or may not apply to you, you be your own judge.

Testimonial of CSC...

I think i'm beginning to like CSC better so far...

Though i can't tell for sure whether this positive feeling will maintain in future, this is what i'm feeling right now...

Ok, i can't say i joined the cca because i'm caring or kind or that i've the passion to help and care for the unfortunate... In fact i joined only because i don't have a cca and just nice WS's friend is in that committee so can jio me in.. Haha.. But hey, after interacting with the residents there, i find it not as boring as i thought to be.. On the contrary, i actually found it fun to interact and play games with the residents there, it even gives me a sense of satisfaction when i know i can really brighten their day...

The people in CSC are also some nice and friendly people... Given the antisocial me, i still don't know many of them, not close with any yet other than WS.. But from observation, i can tell they are very nice people... and given the nature of this CCA, this is not too unexpected...

But of course, who says only the very kind and caring people who can join this CCA??? Those who want to cultivate more 爱心 can also join wat, right??? Even WS also join le... who else can't ya??? (lolx... jkjk!!!)

Though i'll still continue to complain about meeting at an absurdly far location at such a disgusting time, and pull a super long face when i reached..., i'll still make it for every meeting and join more of the club's activities...

My only regret is that i didn't join this CCA earlier, because it's my last sem now and i've missed a good damn lot of their fun activities le...=(

Welcome to my life...

Do you ever feel like breaking down?
Do you ever feel out of place?
Like somehow you just don't belong
And no one understands you
Do you ever wanna runaway?
Do you lock yourself in your room?
With the radio on turned up so loud
That no one hears you screaming

No you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels all right
You don't know what it's like
To be like me

To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like
Welcome to my life

No, they don't understand me at all...
And they seemed to have no interest either...

Pissed...

I'm pissed, by some people...

who frequently remind me of my weaknesses again and again...

who don't think of others' feelings when they talk...

who never consider the no. of other people around and the volume of their voice before they talk...

who make me think twice of confiding in them my problems/weaknesses/secrets in future...

who never consider that all these while, i have never commented or rather, chose not to comment on their weaknesses before...

who make me think twice of controlling my mouth again...

Yes, i am

PISSED!

So the moral of the story is never to show too much of your weaknesses to others, especially one who is inconsiderate, insensitive, loud-mouthed, and is so blunt with his/her words...

At least i'm considerate enough to not put any names...

Maybe i've been too mellow for too long...

Finally... but too late

Hmmm... after reading my logic notes, i realised that actually logic is quite interesting.. and that taking this module can help you identify arguments much more clearly... Interesting.. Why only now near the end of the sem then i realise that??? Kns... Too late liao...

In fact i just realised that the modules i take this sem is quite interesting sia..

Like French, think it's my most relaxing and fun tutorial in NUS liao... lol..

Like logic of course, though the tutorials quite boring, but the content of the module is actually quite interesting...

Like Adolescent, and other psychology modules, i think i'm beginning to understand what's going on finally.. (cos usually i don't, not even during exams... haha~!) slightly a little bit clearer nowadays.. though still very lousy at comprending, and always get confused/mixed up with all the facts and info, but i think i'm finally getting the gist of how to study effectively for psychology or the other arts modules le... FINALLY..

haha, finally got some little improvement after all these years of training with ah gong huh... lolx.. yeah training, cos his ideas are always super chim to me sia. I remember beginning when he first start introducing me his ideas, i'm always @_@ or *_* or even T_T.. always never get what he's trying to say.. haha, now used to it liao sia~ i think it actually helps me exercise my thinking a lot too~ lolx.. thanks ah gong~!!

Eh, but then again, what's the use of it now?? final year liao then get the slight hang of it... too late liao. Sighs...

A real slow learner huh...

Think maybe it's because i'm probably not used to the uni system, not used to arts module, so got the kns cap... Then after that 一蹶不振 already.. then plus all the while i don't really know the right way to study arts modules sia.. So always memorise word for word.. So all these factors in addition to my then habit of slackness, procrastination and also no motivation to really study.. that's why my cap like that.. hmmm... yeah, must be. *firm nod*

Haha, sounds like excuses for my dumbness huh... I think so too.. lol.. but whatever...

Since ahgong had helped me so many times, ok, i shall feature him in the rest of this post ... (in a good or bad light, tt's another thing... =X) Haha...

Here's an incident which i thought was very funny...
Last week, jj accompanied me to this booth to sign up for a class for me and kl... I thought this course was not bad and so i asked jj to join too...
Then i blurted out loud...

"Ah Gong, you want to join mah? like quite fun... leh........ oops."

As soon as i said this, then i realised my mistake.

But it's too late, the 2 girls sitting at the booth was looking at ah gong, oops i mean jj, with weird expressions.

JJ, on the other hand, was looking at me with wide eyes and eyebrows raised... he's feeling stunned and anger i think..

If looks could kill.

HAha.. like what he confirmed in the next second... "I'm gonna kill you!!

I quickly finished filling the form, all the while trying hard to contain my laughter... the 2 girls also i can tell, trying hard to hide their smiles...

After that then i quickly left the booth, laughing all the way... with jj's still diao look on his face...

HAha, damn funny sia~~

The ever-changing me, myself and I

It's been a while since i last blogged..
Since today got some time, so i guess i can afford to crap a little here~ Heh...

Hmmm... think i've discovered something about myself lately...
That changing is my only constant~
I like changes~ Get sick of things easily...
In fact i never stick to something for long..
Be it style in clothes, shoes, bag, accessories, food, idols, habits and so on...
Almost everything!!

Even if sometimes i seem to stick to a particular food/habit/style, that's probably because i'm sick of changing for that period of time... And then continue changing again..

Some of my changes are the changes everyone goes through... Like changing image/styles according to the trends... As trends changes, you will notice changes in everyone's (or almost) fashion sense (like clothes, shoes, hairstyle, accessories etc etc..), tastes in movies/dramas/shows, food, idols..

Even if you are not one who follows closely to the trend, you would mostly change too~ I mean nobody would stick to the same brand and design of shirt or jeans forever right?

So everyone changes, it's just a matter of time that one changes... After all, time = changes, if no changes, then what is time??? So long as time exists, there'll be changes... lol... ok, i know it's crap here. Blame it on yt and especially ahgong who keep regularly bombarding me with such philosophical stuffs.

But anyway, i think my rate of change is faster than most people's bah. For example, clothes and shoes. I don't think i wear the same combination for more than 5 times.. mostly only once or twice. Uniforms not counted k...

Especially in my sleeping and eating habits... I don't think i have a fixed eating or sleeping habit. I can sleep at 10pm tonight, 11pm tomorrow night, 4am the next, 9 pm the following and 2am after that. Super fluctuating...

Same goes for my eating habits... I can eat breakfast at 10am today, 12noon tomorrow, 11am the next or sometimes just skip breakfast altogether. The portions for all three meals are also never the same. I can:

eat a lot for breakfast, skip lunch, eat a lot for dinner;
or skip breakfast, eat a lot for lunch and dinner;
or eat a lot for all 3 meals for a day/ or a couple of days;
or eat a little for all 3 meals for a day (never for a couple of days tho.. =X);
and so on.. basically what kinds of combi you can think of, i've tried before.. And it is always changing still...

Types of food i eat is also never constant... As long as it's within my budget, i would like and want to try every single item available~ lol... Not like some people who would prefer and only eat a certain type of cuisine (like chinese, or japanese, or western), or even a specific kind of dish only (like laksa.. yeah you know who i'm talking about...). But for me, i like anything and everything~ As long as it's nice and edible lar~ (duh!)I wouldn't mind what kind of cuisine it is or what category of food it belongs to -- shelled-seafood, fish, meats, vegetables, be it raw or cooked, cheap or expensive.. all i like! Ha! That's why buffets are the best, can try everything!!! Heh...

Due to my unfixed habits, my weight also fluctuate like siao~ There was once it was so drastic that i have lost 8 kgs within 1 month, stay roughly constant for 2-3 months, then gained (don't gasp!) 10 kilos within the next 2 months~ So within roughly half a year, my weight is like steeeep cosine curve sia~

Even till now, my weight keeps fluctuating, though not that drastically, within a 5 kg range. Like i may be X kg today; X+2 kg next week; X+3 kg the following; X+1 the next; X-2 the week after and so on.. no fixed rate~

Sighs.. looking at what i've written, sounds like i'm not leading a very healthy life sia~~ Oh man...

Or maybe it's not that i really like changes, it's just that i get sick of routines easily, and don't really like to confine myself to a fixed routine/habit/style... (No wonder i hate it when my GP tutor asked me to follow the fixed essay-writing "formula" while writing my GP essay~~)

BUT although i'm constantly changing (like a chameleon?? lol..), i don't really like changes in my surroundings.. Like for example:

When the forests and trees in bukit batok have been cleared for new houses, there would be a tinge of sadness in me. Though the new buildings looked pretty and all...i still miss and prefer the old messy forest.

When i first arrived at US, it's like spring(?), with most trees still bare, with dandelions covering the field, with flowers blooming on some trees. Then came summer, when the trees were covered with lush thick green leaves, when it was snowing dandelion seeds in the air and then gone after some time, when the flowers wiltered and were replaced with grass and leaves. All these changes made me feel sad too~~ making me long for the olden days...

When friendship changes, especially from good to bad. When friends started to know each other, everything was fun and happy. Then came problems, conflicts. Or even worse, the feeling just dies gradually and friends just drift like that.. It is often the case that i may be close to this friend for a period of time, and then became estrange after some time. I suppose this happens to most people bah~ At different stages of life, environment changes, people around you also changes, so naturally friends also changes. Though it's not a phenomenon that i would like, i've to admit that friends do come and go in life... Then i would feel sad again and reminisce about the previous friends i have and stuff... sighs...

Or when friends changes in terms of character or personality, felt that they are no longer the friend i initially know anymore... Then i would again miss their old characters that i am used to know.

When surrounding around me changes, i would also miss the past. Like i would miss my kindergarten, primary and secondary school days... i know that, in near future, i would miss my friends and my university days too... when working life starts, i can already predict my contact with my current group of friends would definitely be reduced. Just like how it is so with my kindergarten, pri, secondary, jc, and m1 friends.. Don't wanna grow up~!!!

I've always wondered why i always reminisce about the past most of the time.. Now i know. I think it's because i am quite resistant of changes in my surroundings, hate to keep up with the changes, hate the fact that what i used to know is no longer true...

Sighs... Keep changing myself but hate changes around me... Funny huh... Contradicting myself sia..

PS: Sorry for the abrupt ending... but i saw WH attacking me in CS from facebook le... disturb my mood for blogging le.. hmmm... he's gonna get it from me sia.. lolx... Ciao~~

I think...

I think...
Sometimes people are mirrors of yourself..
They reflect how you treat them, how you behave towards them..

People will be nice to you if you are nice to them..
People will share secrets with you if you share with them too..
People will also talk bad about you if you talk bad about them..

So if you notice people around you are not treating you as well as you expect, perhaps you should think of how you treat them in the first place.

But then sometimes, when you are too nice, people will think that you are easy to bully. Perhaps they see niceness as a form of "weakness"... as bullying is often the case of the strong against the weak.

It's even worse when being nice isn't your only "weakness".
When you have quite a number of weaknesses and the stronger party knows about it, these weaknesses will always be handy for the Strong to use it against the Weak if they ever get into an argument.

It's made worse even further, when the Strong has few or no weaknesses that the Weak can use to counter.

At the end an argument, it only goes to confirm that the Weak is weak, and the Strong is strong.

The Weak
feels helpless, tired and hopeless
lose their confidence and morales
gets even weaker

The Strong
feels more assured of themselves
gains confidence
gets stronger

But is there such a great difference between the Strong and the Weak in the first place? Or is it the way they portray themselves that makes us perceive so? Everyone would have strengths and weaknesses, don't they? Perhaps the only difference is that the Strong knows how to emphasize their strengths and how to not reveal their weaknesses, while the Weak is one who is less cautious in hiding their weaknesses or perhaps is too honest in revealing their weaknesses?

So in order not to be Weak, we have to constantly improve ourselves as well as learning how to cover up all our weaknesses? Isn't it tiring to be like the Strong?

I think...
I'm too sensitive to how others think of me and would be very affected if someone criticises me or behave in a negative way towards me... Too sensitive that i would think of the issue for days, weeks, or even months... Would get so emotional too... that it would affect my entire mood..

I would then try to change my behaviours in order to compromise... To stop their critcisms as well as their negative attitudes.

But i realise... in the process of constant changing, i'm starting to lose myself...
And i came to realise that it's totally not worth it when the other party don't even realise i'm that affected, or they knew it but they didn't really care... I probably wouldn't be so affected if they weren't Friends... or so i thought...

Friends... i thought, after knowing you for some time... would know what makes you unhappy.. Especially when you have already shown your unhappiness for upteen times... every single time after the topic is broached. But i think either they don't get it, or it doesn't matter to them... Often at the end of the day, it's only you who got affected...

Hitting you several times and then subsequently telling you that that hit wasn't meant to hurt you... What is their aim at the end of the day? To prove that they are always right and you are always wrong?? It's even more absurd especially when the topic is about you and yourself!

Guilty unless proven innocent...

I wish... to lesion part of my amygdala sometimes...

Starstruck~!!!

飞轮海!!! I've first noticed them when i heard their songs on tv.. Their songs were not bad.. very catchy~~ Esp the one they sang with Hebe.. Haha...

Then later heard from WS's friend Yenling that she's a fan of 飞轮海. Found out from her that the 2 main casts of the new idol drama 花樣少年少女.. were actually from 飞轮海!! Got excited but too impatient to wait for Channel U to show 花樣.. So went to the good old youtube~ HAHAha...

飞轮海~

Watched a few episodes and i got hooked on that drama already..WAhahaaha...

The two 飞轮海 members with Ella in 花樣少男少女

And 汪东城 is especially cute and shuai!!! ^_^ Think i've seen him act as the 阿金 in 恶作剧之吻 too... where his character likes a gal who liked another guy... In 花樣 he again plays a role whose love is unrequited...

So sad... I don't understand why the lead actress always choose the main actor instead of him... In both dramas, he's so shuai, so cute, so funny, and so devoted too~ Not to mention his cheeky smile and nice hairdo!! If it's me, confirm OK de.. Lolx...

My horoscope...

I found this quite cool... cos it gave me a quite detailed report of my horoscope, which i think most of them is true... Most importantly i liked what it said about me.. Lol...

Sagittarius...

Sagittarius the Archer is a fun-loving masculine sign, the ninth sign of the tropical zodiac. The Sun on his annual journey shines through Sagittarius from Nov 22 to Dec 21, though it can vary depending on the year. Symbolizing our inner nature, the Sun stands for the essential character of our true self, but Sagittarius is traditionally ruled by the fortunate planet Jupiter, the mythological lord of the gods. Jupiter was known to the ancient Greeks as Zeus, from which we get the latin deus, meaning God.

Mutable, change-loving Sagittarius governs long-distance travel, matters of the higher mind (philosophy, religion and the law), cultural pursuits – and having a good time! It is a fire sign, so Sagittarians are positive, forthright communicators who love travelling – although you do tend to be restless and hate to take orders.

The Sun is bright in Sagittarius. It favours social status, the higher mind and travel, especially in pursuit of idealistic aims in faraway places. Sagittarians are idealists and usually much in demand socially, because you are like a breath of fresh air.

Search for Truth and Knowledge
Sagittarius is a dual sign, which has (of course) both an up and a down-side. The symbols for Sagittarius are the hunter (archer) and the centaur, a mythical half-man, half-horse. These signify the search for truth and knowledge, as well as the constant pursuit of adventure and new ideas. Intellectual curiosity covers a wide range of subjects, but you do get bored and restless when surrounded by dull people or circumstances. You would rather learn on your own, through travel and experience, than endure structured classroom environments and routine work assignments. However, having broadened your knowledge and gained experience in the world on your own, you could become an excellent teacher or administrator in the very educational system you once found so restricting.

You readily adapt to change and home is where you hang your hat. This is both a strength, because it is a survival mechanism, and a weakness because it makes you vulnerable to the demands and influence of others. Frank Sagittarius does not hesitate to give an honest opinion, which can seem tactless at times – although it is rarely your intention to be cruel. You have a ready wit and appreciate the humour in even the grimmest situations.

Energy and Enthusiasm
Needless to say, you much prefer to be the boss in any situation and must constantly watch your tongue in the unhappy event that you find yourself (temporarily!!) in the position of an underling. Before you assess the practicality or worth of what you are doing, before you sort out your true emotions, and before you take time to reason things out intellectually, you have a tendency to shoot first and ask questions later. Communication-oriented Sagittarians are forever bubbling with energy and enthusiasm. Independent and hard to pin down for long, this is the sign of the bachelor, but even married Sagittarians seek to maintain some aspect of personal independence.

Jupiter, the benefic planet of fortune and good luck, endows a generous nature with a friendly, optimistic disposition. A natural politician, you like knowing everyone and going everywhere, for life is something to be enjoyed every day. Addicted to all the good things, you know how to get maximum enjoyment from them, but too much of a good thing can be problematic, and prudence is difficult for most Sagittarians to acquire. Being overly spiritual or too philosophical, for example, gets you too far out of touch with the real world. Despite heroic efforts to be prudent in one area, you can still manage to zoom into bankruptcy by overindulging elsewhere. On the other side of the ledger, your attempts to be prudent can get so far out of line that you can turn into a miser.

Passion for Sports

Enthusiastic Sagittarius has a passion for sports. Physically challenging endeavours of all kinds, including archery, jogging, hang gliding, sailing, and fishing (especially for big game fish) are favorite activities. One big challenge to overcome may be the battle of the bulge, when your fondness for food, glorious food and a good drop finally catches up with you. A natural gambler and risk-taker, you usually come out on the winning side, especially when you try your luck at horse or dog racing. You love music, art, dance, and drama and no doubt have considerable talent in these areas.

Sagittarius rules the thighs, hips, and, to some extent, the feet. Physical problems, however, are apt to be the result of unrestricted diet or an over-indulgent pursuit of other pleasures. Sagittarians are also subject to an overpowering urge to gamble, which can be ruinous for some.

Your colours are maroon, tan, navy, orange, and cobalt blue. The ancients associated the ruby with Sagittarius, while modern astrologers give this sign the turquoise. Your highly adaptable, dual personality can easily associate itself with both gems. Because Sagittarius is associated with bigness in general, flowers for this sign include the large blooms such as huge mums, hydrangeas, dahlias and peonies.

Interesting?? Can find it here. Look for yours in that page. Have fun!!! =D

Dreadful '2'...

For as long as i can remember, i have never been able to celebrate my birthday in school before, and have always envied those who can because that would mean all your classmates can celebrate for you. And not to mention more presents as well.

Because December is the long holiday month, and people usually don't see each other in during holidays (during my primary and early secondary school days), so people usually might as well don't celebrate at all... =S cos it's pretty meaningless to celebrate someone's birthday 1 month later bah..

I remember there's only once when i actually have the chance to celebrate in school... I was 6, studying at the West Coast PAP kindergarten school. That year, i still remembered vaguely, my mom bought my birthday cake, and prepared those little candy gifts wrapped with colourful wrapping paper that kids from our time loved (kids nowadays would probably scrunch their face with distaste instead). I'm so so excited and looking forward to show off share these candies and birthday cake to my classmates~!!!

But alas!! My Suay streak has started since i was young..

Just a few days before that very day, i had chicken pox. Of all times and of all kinds of illnesses, i had to get that stupid disease during that period!!! Why don't make me have minor ones like flu, cough, or even if fever, i'm also willing to crawl to school!!

GRrrr....

Not only that, that very year i got second in class (my only time in life). And i can't attend the prize presentation ceremony in as a result. (The ceremony is also during December)

ROOAAAAARRRRRRRRSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

Why am i so suay in my life?? Think if i write down all my suay chronicles, it would probably be enough to be compiled as a book!!! Maybe even one as thick as a dictionary!! SianZ... =(

Ok, back to topic. Every year, my friends celebrated their birthdays before me. And every year, they (esp the gangst8rs =S) laughed at me being so young, so child-like (as in like a child w/o the +ve pts), and those critical years they gloated that they can already see nc16 or m18 while i can't. =SS

Hahaha... But this year is so different man... Everyone is so scared of reaching the '2' header. Lol... It's the year when many things are changed once you celebrated your birthday.. Like you no longer being a teenager, you entering the adulthood, and how you have to get used to little kids calling you 'auntie' or 'uncle' once you reach the dreadful '2's.. And you probably cannot laugh and shout loudly, cannot run here and there, cannot play in playground, cannot idolize Edison anymore... *horrors*

Otherwise people would say, "Aiyo, see that girl.. In her 20s le still acting like a child sia!! Tsk tsk tsk..."

Most importantly, you also can no longer use the excuse of being still young for your clumsiness or for your loss of handphone... =(

我不想长大!!!

But anyway, as you can see, many many people (especially the girls) dread this very day, and i can finally tease them of being old liao... Payback time~ Heh...

I'm still young~!!! Wooeeeee~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!=D

I'm still a teenager~!!!!! WAaahhahahaahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh by the way, my birthday is 4th DECEMBER!!!!

Don't say i never remind you guys huh...

The love of my life~~

This post is supposed to be published long time ago, haha.. but as usual, i took a super long time to arrange the photos... So.... Enjoy anyway!! haha~ I have the wallpaper version of some of these pics, if u want, i can send them to you. Of course i really don't mind if you want to pay me for my service.. =D

To all guys... you all can stop reading from here le, cos it's girls stuff today... Don't think you all are interested also.. muahahaha...

I just took a look at the counter, and realised that my visitor traffic is moving real slow lately.. So today i shall dedicate 1 whole post to Edison... Hohoho... I should be able to increase my visitor count by 3 times le bah? (6 is not a lot right? since yesterday only got 2 visitors... =S) So girls, after being in school the whole day and see no shuai ges, now you all got 眼福了喔... HAha~ =X

Most of my idols are actually actors from dramas or movies bah.. because it's through dramas and movies that i get to see them often, become familiar with them, and familiarity breeds liking... according to the propinquity effect in my psychology textbook. Lol...

My Longest-Lasting Idol so far... EDISON CHEN!!! hohoho...
First seen him from the movie Twins Effect, at HY's house with the gangst8rs... After which i got 电到 till now... *-* His cool hairstyle, mischievous smile, cute dimples, and oh-so-dreamy deep eyes... *drools* Ahaha.....

Then saw him again in 9 girls and a ghost, another HK movie back in 2002 i think... Ok, the movie is not really nice, but i think it's the only movie which shows most of Edison~!!! And close up too!!! HeeZ... Once again, i'm electrocuted throughout the entire 2 hours... Even after the movie, I sat where i was and replayed the movie in my head... heh..

These shots are taken from his various movie scenes.... Don't drool too much arh... Lol... Click on these pictures to enjoy a larger view (slightly lar, heh..).

Some of my own collections... haha...

So. Cute. ^_^

More idols blogging in next post... Stay tuned...

Daydreaming...

Breezy wind blowing in my face from the window. Me looking steady and calm.. without a care in the world.

But my insides are actually squirming with fear. I realised that my nightmare is going to start right after the recess week. 2 projects, 2 mid term exams and 1 term paper to be handed in by the second week of October!! Today marks the end of the term break as well as the 1st day of October, and i haven't done a single thing~!!

Children's Day.. I envy kids... They are so damn carefree~ Prancing and laughing all day long at the nearby playground. Time seems to be unlimited for them. I wish time would stop... I wish there are more than 24 hours a day... I wish the world is all about blogging and watching tv and daydreaming... Then my life would be perfect~ Haha...

I really hate studying~ I don't know why it took me 19 years to realise that. I used to love to read books, to read textbooks even.. Most shockingly, i used to love doing my homework!! *GAsP* But now imagining me doing all these is almost unthinkable...

Stress, Problems, Troubles, Homeworks, Readings, Wrinkles, Freckles, Pimples and the Rate of Sighing per Day all increase as age increases..

So what decreases??

My hair and my grades!!

Arrgggghhhh....

If only i could turn back time~

Many thoughts...

Today is Sunday, and tomorrow is the fourth week already...
And.........

I still haven't do any work!!!!!!!!!!!=S

(What else?)

I think i have been spending too much time bloggging and reading blogs already. Spent about an average of 4-5 hours per day. *Gasp*

Must cut, must cut...

So i guess i won't be blogging too regularly after today. Unless... there's some i-will-die-if-i-don't-get-it-out-of-my-chest stories that happen to me.. Hope it won't happen too often! haha...

So anyway, today i was awaken by my parents again.. My parents are always very enthusiastic about going for jogs on Sunday mornings. But enthusiasm is one thing....the actual action is another.

Usually my dad is the first to wake up, then followed by my mom. My mom will then wake her two lazy-boney (is there such a phrase?) kids. So there's 2 kinds of situations that usually happen after this:

1) We woke up and we all go the near by stadium to jog. Or rather, we attempt to. (because we usually end up walking a few rounds before proceeding to have our heavy breakfast. =X)

2) She failed.
And we all go back to sleep. wahahaha...

Today, my mom got lucky so we did 1) in the morning. :) But when we reached there, there was a sign pasted on the entrance.

"CLOSED FROM SEPT 1-3"

Haha.. can go eat breakfast liao, i thought. But fat hope, my dad seemed keen in going to a Place To Exercise. =( Recalling that one of his friends told him that Kent Ridge Park is very beautiful with nice scenaries, we all ended up there instead.

Frankly i don't think there's any nice scenaries at Kent Ridge Park, I think the scenary below
my house looks nicer. =X Just joking. Perhaps i am simply not artistically inclined lar. Ok, there are many trees over at KR Park that's like a miniature forest. But what's special is that there is this long suspending bridge from the park that leads to this little museum, called the Reflections of Bukit Chandu.

My dad is someone who has always been fascinated with history and is obsessed with our Singapore history as well. And.... that's how the whole family ended up taking a social studies lesson in the museum. =S

The last (and probably one of my first) time we went to visit the museum was about 2-3 years ago. At that time, they were having this event (which i can't rem what..) that allows all visitors to enter ANY museum FREE!!!

Needless to say, we went to visit all the museums on that one day.. =D

Back to today's visit, it is a relatively smaller museum as compared to the others that i have visited. It mainly shows exhibits from the Japanese Occupation in Singapore back in 1940s. While the facts are still fresh in my memory, here's a little short and sweet history lesson for you guys... ^_^

Year 1942

7th Feb -- The Japanese had a nice strategy. They first attacked Pulau Ubin. Then all our ancestors went to stand by in the East

8th Feb -- But the Japs attacked from the North-West instead, and we were caught totally unaware.

9-12th Feb -- The Western, Northern and Eastern parts of Singapore are taken by the Japanese Imperial Troops.

13th Feb -- The only area left is the Pasir Panjang area (where the Kent Ridge Park & this museum is currently at), where it's the last defence as well as the last hope for Singapore then.

The Japanese disguised themselves, and attacked quietly. But Lt. Adnan Saidi saw through their disguise and commanded to open fire. Killed 20+ Japanese soldiers. This angered them, and both sides put on a fierce battle.

14th Feb -- Lt. Adnan Saidi was captured and died horribly under the hands of the Japanese. The Japs then proceeded to invade the Alexandra Hospital (then known as the British Military Hospital) and brutally massacred about 150 patients, doctors and nurses. (Some were defenselessly lying on the operating table when the soldiers charged in and killed them!! *Angered!!*)

15th Feb -- The start of the Japanese Occupation campaign, as well as the first day of the Chinese lunar new year. To many war survivors who lost their loved ones on that fateful day, the Chinese Lunar New Year no longer brings to them festival mood. They simply have too much painful memories to grieve on this day....

Within a short period of 8 days, Singapore the "impregnable fortress" fell easily into the clutches of the Japs. The British and Australians did not really put much resistance against the Japanese back then. Lesson learnt: Never be too dependent on outsiders for your own defence.

Oops... Sorry, I've gotten a little too emotional here. But i always do whenever i read about the Singapore history from my Social Studies textbook. It's hard not to be when history textbooks, teachers and museums are always there to remind me of how Singaporeans were once brutally treated by the Japanese. Oh ya, and my luo suo grandma too. She is like one of the survivors of the war too.. Haha... She often told me of the things they did to escape from the soldiers. Like applying charcoal on their faces to avoid being captured and tortured (you shd noe wad kinda torture i'm toking about here=( ), holding their breaths when the Japanese planes flew by, bribing the Japs with gold jewelleries and so on... She also witnessed one of her neighbours being captured, brutally raped and killed (even after she had applied charcoal and worn large clothes), while my grandma and her sisters were hiding behind some sacks and barrels. My grandma had to watch the whole episode without making a single sound, and when the poor girl died, she's only in her 20s............

So if you ask me if i am anti-japanese, i would say not really. Because after all, the younger generations have nothing to do with what happened back then. And i do not really hate them actually. But, i can't say i like them either... Thus, this will probably be a clearer explanation to some of you why I'm not really enthusiastic about Japanese dramas, movies, culture and language... So.....

Stop pestering me to watch Japanese dramas or learn Jap lang again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hahahaha.........

Ok, something nice for those of you who bothered to read till here....

Oh err.. only for those who likes English songs... hehe...

Here's the site where i often got to know of the American hits chart. It's pretty useful to me cos i don't listen to radio, yet i'm still in tune to the latest and most popular hits. haha!

To WS: Actually I really hated Promiscuous when i first downloaded that song one, and i thought what bad taste WS has!! Until... lately i've started to tap to its rhythm....

Shux!

hahaha... okok, thx anw!!! =X

Ramblings II..

Oh, and i would like to add...

I've discovered some freckles on my already so spotty face!!!...

after my earlier discovery of new moles on my already molely(?) chin, shoulder, leg, arm... body !!!!!!!!!!!!!

ARrrrrgggghhhh........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why why why???!!!!!!!!!! Why so many setbacks one after another??

I'm really getting old...

That's why i'm so complainy nowadays.. heh.

Ramblings...

Haha.. It's been some time since i came to blog in here..
I think i'm starting to get lazy again.. Oh oh...

Oh ya, I think there's a problem with my tagbox lately.. Thought it would be ok after sometime.. So i waited, because i hoped all my previous conversations would still be saved. But apparently I'm wrong, looks like the site has probably been shut down for good. There goes my conversation history. =( So i've changed to using cbox instead.. Hope it lasts longer this time! haha!

I've been quite down again on last few days.. But after talking to my jie mei, i felt that i've been too 执著 over some issues. And that i should learn to let go sometimes. After all, these things are not forever, they always come and go. No point getting upset over such small matters..

Hahaha.. Never thought i'll say this... but if you are reading this... Thanks a LoT jIE mEI!!! thanks for hearing all my nonsensical complaints arhz.. and also thanX for consoling me ya.. (Better appreciate it ar, cos i wun say it again. =X)

Oh i just remembered what i want to complain.. On thursday, me, Bri, Claud and SY went to Co-OP making our textbook purchases. The other 3 was complaining about how expensive theirs was.. About 60 bucks or so.. And I didn't really consider how much my textbooks will cost, i roughly estimated to about 70 at most for 2 books... So i thought, " WOw~ Lucky i didn't take CNM!!"

After getting my SOcial and Abnormal Psych Textbooks, i went to queue to pay for them. Guess how much the books cost??

A Whopping $88.40!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The main reason being the Abnormal text cost about $50!! Grrr.... Yeah, it has hard cover and glossy papers.. but so what?!! it's only to improve our reading experience, that's all! Books are meant to be read, not display.. Haiz.. Now i have to figure out how to survive on my measly $150-$88.40= $62.60 this month.. =(

Some kinda Abnormal textbook this is...

And hope the lecturers won't decide to make my life even more miserable by changing textbooks again for the next semester.. HaiZ...

University education is really meant for the rich...

Add on: Oh i almost forgot... After making their purchases, Bri come and (happily) add salt to my wounds by telling me their CNM textbook actually only cost about $30 this sem!!!! Because it's been changed to paperback this semester.. Life is just so unfair... =(

Palmistry....

Damn. Today is only the first day of school and i'm already feeling so sian. The lecturers of 2 of my modules just (happily) promised us tons of readings to prepare before each tutorial. SianZation!! Perhaps i'm not suited to study.. Haha..

Anyway, today i went to do something interesting which pretty much brightens my day after my super duper SUEI (=unlucky) day last week (i'll blog about this later!).

Yeah..

Palmistry!!

Currently there's this bazaar going on in my school where there are many booths selling almost everything ranging from computer gadgets to clothes and accessories. One of these booths is this astro-palmistry booth where you can ask about your future on the following 6 topics. You can either pay $10 for 2 of these topics or $20 for all 6.

love/marriage
luck/money
career
travel/migration
health
children

With the current not-so-interesting lifestyle i have now, i'm definitely curious as to what will happen to me in future. Thus i went there with mf and her friend cheryl. We waited for quite a long time (while mf kept Om mani Padme Hungs continuously..) as there was a long queue before us. Being the typical Singaporean that i am, of course i chose the more 划算 one. Heehee.. He gave me a very detailed analogy and i felt my $20 is quite well-spent.. All the following examples are given by him. Guys, don’t puke k.. All these not i say one.. haha!

My Character

My parents have a great control over me, and restrict me to do most of the stuff that i want. Which is one of the reasons why I’m very conservative, reserved and lack of confidence.

Example: I would not take the initiative to chase after a guy, and a guy probably have to ask me out 5 times before I agree.

Advice: Say ‘hello’ to the one I like!

I’ve a very strong sense of intuition and mostly it’s accurate.

Example: If I have a bad feeling about this SIA plane that I am going to take, don’t take. It might save my life!!

Advice: Trust my intuition.

I tend to think ‘bloody too much’!!

Example: If a guy I think likes me, I would think up of a thousand reasons why he doesn’t later.

Advice: Don’t think too much lar..

But on the contrary to the above, I'm an egoistic person, very competitive too.. Have leadership qualities, like to control people and will be very popular if I can take all the above advice.

My main and greatest weakness: Temptation.

Example: Drinking. If I love drinking and tempted to drink a lot, someone may spike my drink and god-knows-what will happen. (Shux! I only had my first drink last week..)

According to mf, by temptation he actually meant that i'm unable to resist good-looking guys... and because of that they may take advantage of me. Fish!! @#$#@%#@%#@%~!!!!!!!

He also said I have an aura which makes people very hard to sabo me.. (hehe!) but this will be ‘killed off’ due to my inability to resist temptation. (Damn...)

Love/Marriage

My future partner may be a foreigner or an overseas-born Chinese.

I must find someone of higher status than me… and not someone who’s weaker.

I’ll most likely to marry at 31 (looks like you’ve lost your bet, mf…), and may re-marry again at 35.

Oh ya, he also said my palms read that I’m sexy (woohoo!!!) though i don’t look like so…. =S

Money/Luck

Due to this ‘fish’ on my palm, I’ll be prosperous and bring prosperity to my future spouse. (He said only 10 out of 1000 has this, and whoever has 2 ‘fishes’ are destined to be a fortune teller like him.) But because of this, my spouse may get lazy. (=S! Looks like I must train him sia…)

There will be a major point of change when I reached 35. As mentioned above, may re-marry, or strike lottery… (I hope it is the latter… HAHA!! Woohoo~!!!!).

He also said I will have something majorly lucky or unlucky happening on either Nov ’07 or Dec ’08. But 95% confirm that something is going to be lucky. I may fall in love!! Hahahaha!!

But generally, I’ll be pretty lucky.. hehe..

Career

Researches, (and some other jobs which I can’t remember) suits me best because I am good in details, in other words, meticulous… wahahha!

My job depends much on 人缘 to succeed.. and it’s possible because I’ve got the potential to be popular…Hehehe...

I'll be dealing with many major proposals and many foreigners during my course of work. I'll also make many major decisions! (WOW!! *_*)

And my ideal job scope is to be an industry where I can ‘show off’!! (Maybe I should consider being an actress or singer or any kind of artiste… wahahaha!! Look out for the next star-wannabe!! =X)

Travel/Migration

I tend to travel a lot and will migrate in the end (which he said in great confidence that i WILL DEFINITELY migrate). I will travel to and fro between Singapore and my migrated country due to business or family.

Foreigners are my 贵人s.

Health

Do not have a fantastic health in future. =(

May have high blood pressure, high cholesterol or heart-related problems …

Children

Will give birth to boys… (Damn! I was looking forward to girls instead…)

Well, so that’s about all… Looks like my future husband will be a foreigner.. Hope he’s some really cute Caucasian instead of some foreign construction workers.. hehe… So, guess I no longer need to care so much of my image in front of local guys liao… haha~

Cute Caucasian, here I come!!
