Hi ppl... after MIA-ing for so long, i think i better post something...
the network here sucks la... i have to travel down all the way to library to use the internet lar... kns..

Here's some accumulated entries i've blog about in the past few days... Got some more which i haven't update.. but till nxt time bah~

Mon, 4am (Ohio time)
In my room…

Some of you probably still didn’t know… That I’m already in a land far far away from Singapore… in a land called Sandusky.

Sandusky is like a small town in Ohio. So far according to my knowledge, there’s like only 3 main parts of Sandusky:

• Shoreline Downtown (Where the library is)
• The part of the town with all the necessary facilities, like the Mall, the supermarket, the petrol station, the restaurants, the bank etc…
• And of course my workplace, Cedar Point the amusement park with the no. 2 best roller coasters~ (That’s what they all say, I don’t know where’s the 1st though.. lol. )

Here’s a little more background info about Sandusky so that you guys can picture what we are going through right now…

Weather
The weather here is crazy~ It fluctuates a lot. It can be freezing at 7 degrees one day, and then back to about 20 degrees in the next~ So you can actually see people wearing sweaters, jackets and long pants in one day, then just shorts and bikini tops in the next day… Lol. Like now, I’m in my room, dressed with my normal sleeping clothes that I wear in Singapore and only covered with a blanket, when I wore a jacket, hugged a pillow and a sweater, plus the blanket just last night.

But one thing is constant, the weather here is very dry. We have to apply moisturizer constantly to keep our skin moist. Otherwise our lips will crack. In fact many customers asked me for lip balm most of the time, but our shop doesn’t have it. They call it a “chap stick” here. First time I heard it, I thought they meant “chopstick”~ lucky our shop doesn’t sell chopsticks either… otherwise you could have imagine the paiseh-ness if I show them the chopsticks when they wanted a lip balm.. lol…

Animals and Plants
The stray animals here are not the normal Singapore’s stray cats, pigeons, crows and those black birds. Instead, the stray animals here are the seagulls, wild ducks (osome people say they are geese) and chipmunks (some people say it’s squirrels but they all look the same to me…). Or at least in the park I see lots of them, like those chipmunks running across the doorway of my shop many times in a day… Like those wild ducks strolling every morning outside my apartment. But these few days I don’t see them anymore… Maybe become duck stew liao… =X

And just a few days ago, I saw a wild rabbit running in the bushes when I looked out the window at the employee cafeteria. So cute sia~ Wish I could adopt it man… Hah…

For trees, I think they look somewhat like autumn trees, because half of them were crowned with red and yellow leaves when I first arrived. There are also lots of dandelions (at least I think they are…) on the grass patches, can pluck them and blow out their little feathery seeds.

Ok, now 4.52am already, think I shall go to sleep liao.. Was awaken by nature calls just now.. haha.. Later still have to wake up for work at 10 am… Shall continue next time~ Hah…

In my room

Today I’m totally swamped! By flies!! They call it the May flies, because they usually appear during May, near the summer season. This means summer is coming!! And no more cold weather liao.. Though I find the weather too old now, I also don’t wish the weather to turn hot… Then the warm clothes that I brought with me like very useless liao. Hai..

Oh yar, so anyway, as I was saying… the flies were really scary lah.. You can walk along the road and kena like 5 flies hitting on your face even though you already tried to cover your face. It is really that scary.

Today was another boring day again… Nothing much to do, except arranging and rearranging the already arranged stuff in my shop. Haha… In case you all still don’t know, which I think is most of you, I work in a Snoopy shop, which sells everything that is associated with Snoooooppyyy. But our shop targeted on little kids, aged from infants to about 5 or 6 year old kids. So everyday I’ll be folding little kids’ tees and pants, hanging little kids’ caps and arranging those snoopy plushes, toys and action figures. Our shop also sells souvenirs like those ceramic displays in the cabinet, pens, pins, clips, jewelries, accessories, stationery sets, cards and stuff..

I have been facing Snoopy toys for almost 1 week by now that I almost got to know the whole Snoopy family liao.. Even though I’m not a Snoopy fan at all..

Snoopy – the Beagle Dog as well the main character
His brothers – Andy, Olaf, Marbles and another one which I forgot his name
His sister – Belle

Charlie Brown – The Blockhead, as well as Snoopy’s owner
Sally Brown – Charlie’s sister

Lucy van pelt – The girl who likes Charlie Brown. And she’s also the girl who sets up a psychiatrist stall, giving people advice.

Linus van pelt – Lucy’s younger brother. The boy who loves his security blanket more than anything else. “Cute isn’t everything… (Security blanket is.) “

Namji Lunch + M1 gang Outing

The long awaited Namji outing has finally come yesterday... Lol...

We had lunch at the Asian Kitchen.. I ordered the fried rice with prawns.. Haha..

Very nice~ Prawns very fresh as well.. lolx~

AM had this single HUGE omelette with rice.. But she complained that the menu had shown 2 omelettes instead of 1.. Maybe you should sue them sia~ lolx...

WS let me taste some of her beef fried rice... Not bad too~

I think the rest ordered set meals which includes 1 side dish in the set. And they ordered every single side dish in the menu!!!

Later AM surprised us with GIFTS... She got us each a personalized photo frame and a little card with personalized message, as well as a little gift... And i got a DAvid Tao's Ultrasound CD!!!

Omg.. i only complained a little about my spoilt CD, and she got 1 for me!! THankS a million!! ^_^

After that, went to meet the m1 peeps... and JH's friend, Ivan.

Played basketball and badminton~ JH's favourite choice.. Cos he no need to spend a single cent for a whole day's outing~ lolx...

And that's like the first time after MONTHS that i do any sports liao...

Feels real good to sweat like that once in a while~ Haha!!

Though i admit i played lousily, but i'm lucky to be in HL's team most of the time~ So i won like almost all games!! Wahahaha~!!

The first ball (to decide which team you are in) is actually THE determining ball to whether you would win or lose.. lolx..

I want to complain about SP's vending machines lar~ Because i don't have coins with me, so i have to rely on other modes of payment...
BUT...
They either don't accept my cashcard (said it's invalid!! =S)...
or don't accept my EZlink card (can't seem to detect my card)...
Or when they accept, the drinks were sold out!!!! ROARs!!!

In the end, YH have to bring me to walk through all the buildings around that big big soccer field... pass about 7 to 8 drinks vending machines before i finally bought...

Went Botak John for Dinner..

Queue was so loonngg man~ That's like the longest queue i've ever seen in a coffee shop man...
I ordered fish and chips, the rest ordered Cajun Chicken set... Should have followed them, theirs nicer leh... =S We also ordered Cheese fries.. Not bad~

And the portion is BIIGGG!! That i have to ta bao half the meal home... Their service was great too~ I must say they are quite observant.. in noticing that my orders haven't arrive, and kept reassuring me that the orders would be arriving soon... Even though i didn't really wait for very long, considering the long queue...

And it's only while we were talking that i realise I've known these peeps for 2 and a half years already!! I can't believe we are considered old friends liao.. lolx.. Time really flies sia~

But it seems like not long ago when i first met them in m1. Those were really the days man... Work is made tolerable or even fun, with them around~
