The Cold Era...

The weather is getting hot recently eh? Is that the reason why i've been bombarded by 'cold' jokes nowadays??

Just yesterday, i went to mug but end up talking the whole day at the Central Library with WS, YT, YB, KR (grp 2 de!! =S), WH, JL and his freshie.. And by the end of the day, i realise that this bunch of engin people can really reduce the surrounding temperature by at least 10 degrees man..

These are some of the cold jokes i learnt yesterday..

1) Beginning with the now classic joke, which i first learnt from WS's blog..

" Are you free? "

" No, I'm priceless! "

" ... "

2) " It's time for 罐头少年断!! "

" What's that? "

" Can-Teen Break!! "

" ... "

3) " 男女授受不亲... "

" 对啊,肥的才亲 "

" ... "

So during the whole time, my facial expression was like this...

The main source of these jokes came from JL according to WS. I noticed she herself has gotten lamer too.. (Please don't tell me you've got perfectly fine legs.. -_-"") I think i seriously have to invest in a windbreaker soon if i plan to continue hanging around with her...

Today i went to play basketball in the morning with m1 gang (another 'cold' bunch of people) , and then proceeded to my beloved Suki Sushi restaurant for the ultimate buffet~!!

Me and my Hao Jie Mei~!! lol... (testing his new hp camera after bball)

NOte WS: Sushi Buffet~!!! Think unlimited sashimis~ Think crispy soft-shell crabs~ Think salmon sushi with prawn salad~ Think baked oysters with cheese and tomato~ OoooOoo.. So full today!! MuahahhaZ~

Unfortunately, i forgot to take photos of the food today.. But to help you visualise better, i specially dug out pictures from my previous visits to suki leh. HAha~ so... Tada!!

Claudia's Bday...

This post is written on Sunday... But i spent quite some time arranging the photos... So.... It's late by a week... Hehe.

WE finally celebrated Claud's birthday today!! hahaha~ and my $40 top finally get to see the outside world today also.. SO it's double happiness!! :) Lol...

After exactly 1 month, we put our plans to actions.. We went to this Indian restaurant called Masala Art at Peninsula Plaza.. The service is excellent.. They treat you like VIPs once you entered the restaurant. We went for the buffet course, but the manager himself kept bringing plates of their indian bread and asked us whether we would like to have more of that. He also kept recommending us what kind of curry goes best with which types of food, and at the same time explaining what are the main ingredients of their curries and desserts.

Maybe i'm not used to Indian cuisine, i find the food there only OK. It's their service that won me over.. haha.. Oh they also have this Fondue fountain!! Muahaha.. For those who don't know what is that, it's actually a fountain of melted Dark Chocolate for you to dip fruits into it.. I've just entered Heaven... Muahahah...

Ok, i'm too lazy to think of words to write already.. So let pictures tell you the whole story.. Lol..

OUR BUFFET SPREAD~!!!

Them enjoying the food... and me as their cameraman woman.. =S

CHOCOLATE FONDUE~!!! OOoooOOOOooo......

It's time for Claud to open her presents!!!

This is the gift from Bridget...
Claud looking sO haPPIE~!!

This my gift to Claud....

Eh... Why that face sia??? =S

Being Narcisstic again... Hehe~

After which we went to the nearby hotel and borrowed their toilet... =X

"See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil!!!!"

Before we went home, we went to Bugis Village to check out their latest clothes again.. Hahaha~!!! =P

So that's the end of my 1-day Tai Tai life....

Cheers~

Xiao Long Baos..

Queer... It's these dainty little things with just meat paste on the inside and dumpling skin on the outside that drives AM totally crazy, and sent her bugging the group 6 people to bring her down to have them..

Picture taken from http://static.flickr.com/39/77772392_36773792d2_m.jpg.

So we (me and WS) went to orchard paragon on Sunday... On our way there from Orchard station, we can see decorations along the street.

WS: Looks like Christmas decos hor?
Me: Oh really? Wow... they put up the Christmas decos so much in advance ar?
WS: NO!! It's for some arts festivals thingy! I didn't say IT IS Christmas deco!! I only said it looks like.. You dunno got the arts festival event meh? Dun you ever read the newspaper?? It's all over lor!! You.........!!!

*Tuned out as she continues grumbling.....*

But indeed, with the trees wrapped with red and white polka dotted cloth, and matching huge ball ornaments hanging on them, won't you all be reminded of reindeers and Christmas tree ornaments????

No?? You need some creative juice then.. Haha!!

And along the way, there are about 4 to 5 people who pestered WS to join some modelling programme, whom she skilfully declined with a wave of a hand... WOW!! this is something i should learn!!! But don't know why, i don't have any chance to practise that day... Nobody pestered me...=S

Walk walk walk..., by the time we reached there, we were already 1+ hour late... And don't ask me why... if not i'll start grumbling again. haha.. The rest of the group 6 people had already ordered 7... ermm.. what do you call that? baskets of xiao long baos on the table...

Not bad, i must say... Tender juicy meat paste, wrapped with thin, soft and fluffy skin.. When you first bite it, be careful of the juice that squirts out.. They don't call them soup dumplings for nothing!! haha... okok, don't drown in your drool ar...lol...

But too bad i've already eaten lunch at home, so i can only manage to eat 3...=( Whereas some people ate ahem, 15 wor... =X Crapped most with WS, AM and JL there.. haha... But unfortunately, many of us have to leave by 4+ due to tests, tuition and other appointments... So the meeting ended real short..

Never mind, think AM is already very happy, having to enjoy the xiao long baos after such a loonnng wait... See how satisfied she looks....

A closer shot...

Err.. forgive me for saying this... but i thought YB had long hair when i first saw this picture!! Momentarily stunned... Haha!!! Upon closer look, then i realised it was YT's..

lol... *Ah Choo!!* Did someone just cursed me???

HAha! Anyway, HapPIE bELaTED BiRthDay AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not too late right?? 2 months only mah... =X

Oh yar, before we reach home, it began to rain, so we went shopping for awhile at westmall. In the end, i bought another bottom from Giodarno!! I think i can really go endorse for Giodarno and Bossini sia~ I've bought a half-jacket, 2 shorts and 2 tops from Gio recently, and my closet is half-filled with Bossini's!! Since i'm such a regular customer of theirs, they should really give me some VIP rewards or something sia...

Sweety concert..

Sorry people.. Lately i'm a little busy with school stuff, outings and of course my daily TV commitments. That's why i don't have the time to blog. =( Promise today will produce more than 1 post k??

Oh yar, can tell that you all are quite disappointed with my lack of posts, and decided to give me some feedback...

Have you all banned my site or something??

Yeah, only 2 kind souls visited my blog last friday... And they probably just entered my site by mistake... *sobZ*

Okok, time to update...

Last thursday, I went to watch the Sweety concert organised by the Temasek Hall. It's quite a last minute thing for me actually.. They had started giving out tickets on tuesday (my free day). Based on the previous Zhang Zhi Cheng and Zhang Shao Han's concerts, whereby all tickets were given out on the very first day of distribution, i thought i had no chance of getting the tickets already. That's why on thursday, i'm really surprised when MF told me she and her friends got the tickets on the spot and also shun bian got 1 for me that day..

Actually i went there with MF and her friends, my project mate Diana, and Claud.. but don't know why, somehow we got separated.. so left me and Claud. Hahaha...

Because this is a last minute affair, we didn't bring our digicams!!! =( Haiz... Plus the lighting is so dim that day... so these are the only few clear pictures we had taken using our handphone..

YanYan & QiaoQiao...

Personally i liked QiaoQiao better... Her singing not bad.. But don't know why many people there preferred YanYan. Anyway, i don't really listen to their songs. I only watched their dramas... Like 绿光森林 and 爱情魔发师.. hehe.

Overall, the concert is quite enjoyable, especially to Claud. She was one of the lucky ones who got the free Kopitiam card, worth $10!!! So.. Kopitiam have gone cashless too... Now then i know.. lol...

But I must say, the concert is pretty short, the whole thing lasted only about 30-40 minutes. Most importantly, i didn't get any posters!! =(

Random...

Haha.. Sorry for the lack of updates people... But i'm not in the mood for blogging lately due to many new HK drama episodes (woohoo~!!!) tutorials and assignments..

But i've uploaded many more photos recently.. Can take a look if you are free... Haha.. =)

Anyway today i met the project mate again. Was surprised to see him taking the same bus as me. Finally said Hi to him. So to compensate for my unfriendliness the last time, i gave him a 10-megawatt smile and tried to be extra-friendly by asking him all sorts of questions, and he did the exact opposite by giving me all sorts of few-words answer.

ME: Hihi! you live around here? Where you live?!!
HIM: Near the XX building there..

ME: Oh really??
HIM: Yeah...

ME: ...

ME: What are you majoring in??
HIM: Econs

ME: waiting for him to ask back... but waited in vain.

ME: Oh by the way, i'm majoring in psychology
HIM: What's that?
ME: Psychology
HIM: Oh, psychology..
ME: ...

HIM: put on his ear-piece and continue listening to his mp3 which he pause just now when i initiate the conversation..

ME:...

After a long pause... I decided to try again...

ME: Oh so have you seen the rest of our project mates this sem? I haven't seen them lately..
HIM: No..

ME: (desperately) What are the modules you taking this sem?
HIM: Oh core mods
ME: all core?
HIM: Oh no, but mostly core...
ME: ...(Exasperated!!)

Luckily it's time for me to alight at that time..

ME: (Manages a smile) I live around here. Cya!

So as you can see, my facial expression is like this:

=D ( 10-megawatt smile) --> =) (10-watt smile) --> -_-!!! (cold...) --> T_T (lemme get outta here!!)

Come to think of it, luckily i didn't say hi to him the other time.. Once of such cold encounter is enough!!

*Pray to all gods on earth & heaven that he doesn't stumble onto my blog* lol...

Oh yar, today YT asked me why i put my blog name as Chen Sao.. I initially thought it was pretty obvious, but in case many of you still don't know... Chen Sao is Mrs Chen, Mrs Edison Chen.. Get it?? Haha.. Actually i want to put Mrs Edison at first, but i think it's too obvious and i don't really like the idea of Edison's fans come haunting me... Haha.. Ya, so that's why..

YT asked me again why i like Edison? Ehh.. this one a bit difficult.. because i always change my idols from time to time.. but Edison is the longest one i ever had and am still not tired of him.. Haha! So that's why me is Chen Sao mah.. 老夫老妻了... GrinZ...

Maybe i'll blog about my past idols in my next blog. There's the zoo outing i haven't blog too.. But i'm waiting for the rest of the zoo photos so i can choose the best pics to illustrate the zoo outing..

Haha.. Sorry for my bad english today, but i can't concentrate on my grammar and sentence structure cos i'm gonna zzzz liao.. So, till next time...

Ciao

Life is full of acting...

My dad's favourite 名言s:" Life is full of acting " and " 人生如一場戲 "...

True, life is very much like a drama. Everyone puts on different masks in different situations and to different people.

One obvious example:

You bitch to your colleagues about your boss behind his back, but you changed your mask when you meet him 5 mins later. You smiled sweetly to him and say, "Good Morning, sir!"

My friend who works as a part-time telemarketer, observed that her colleagues in the company changes their facial (and perhaps vocal) masks faster than the Chinese performers do their 變臉. When they are on the phone with their customers, they talked in sweet and polite tones. Immediately once the phone touches the cradle, their face turns black immediately, all the "^%$#%@#%@%@#!$#@$" s were everywhere as they start bitching to their colleagues next to them. It's as if they were suddenly possessed by devils or something. Where have the previous sweet angels gone to? Oh not to worry...

They'll come back once the phones were back on their ears again. :)

My dad also often complains how my mum cheated him into marriage with her Great Acting Skills. How she appeared to be demure and gentle before marriage.... And the exact opposite right after. Lol... He also always say,

" 想當年....... girls queued from Bukit Batok to Toa Payoh just to date me you know..."
" I must be blind to choose your Mummy ar..."
" She must have fed me poison..."

Ya right. -_-""

Today after our lunch, KL was telling me about her incident with her annoying classmate....

KL: I love this music band!!

Annoying Person: Oh, how old!!! (nicer word for obiang)

KL: smiles sweetly.... (while cursing and swearing in her heart)

Looking Sweet and Innocent...

In our hearts...

I mentioned in my first blog that I've always admired her ability to put on a sweet and innocent mask even though it isn't what she's really thinking. She should be titled as the Master of the Mask-of-Deception man....

No matter how disgusted she's feeling at the moment...........

You can tell absolutely nothing from her facial expressions....

With Love... ^_^

Sidetrack: Omg... What's this doing in my hp???

Jay's 千里之外~

Hey guys!! As some of you have known by now, Jay Chou had invited Fei Yu Qing as a guest star in his album 依然范特西.

Just wanna share with you guys his MV that i've found from youtube!!! haha~!!

His latest Single -- 千里之外!!!!

Enjoy enjoy!!!

I have never really listen to Fei Yu Qing's songs, i only know he likes to sing Teresa Terng's songs. So to me, he's just some singer who belongs to my parents's era.. Hahaha...

Was really curious how the song would turn out when i first heard about their duet... But i must say, not bad leh.... His voice blend very well with the music, especially the erhu in the background.. Very melodious sia...

On the other hand, i must comment that Jay's voice don't match this kind of genre, don't really blend well leh.. hehe...

Overall, the song not bad... I love the melody~

Love Jay's works!!

Many thoughts...

Today is Sunday, and tomorrow is the fourth week already...
And.........

I still haven't do any work!!!!!!!!!!!=S

(What else?)

I think i have been spending too much time bloggging and reading blogs already. Spent about an average of 4-5 hours per day. *Gasp*

Must cut, must cut...

So i guess i won't be blogging too regularly after today. Unless... there's some i-will-die-if-i-don't-get-it-out-of-my-chest stories that happen to me.. Hope it won't happen too often! haha...

So anyway, today i was awaken by my parents again.. My parents are always very enthusiastic about going for jogs on Sunday mornings. But enthusiasm is one thing....the actual action is another.

Usually my dad is the first to wake up, then followed by my mom. My mom will then wake her two lazy-boney (is there such a phrase?) kids. So there's 2 kinds of situations that usually happen after this:

1) We woke up and we all go the near by stadium to jog. Or rather, we attempt to. (because we usually end up walking a few rounds before proceeding to have our heavy breakfast. =X)

2) She failed.
And we all go back to sleep. wahahaha...

Today, my mom got lucky so we did 1) in the morning. :) But when we reached there, there was a sign pasted on the entrance.

"CLOSED FROM SEPT 1-3"

Haha.. can go eat breakfast liao, i thought. But fat hope, my dad seemed keen in going to a Place To Exercise. =( Recalling that one of his friends told him that Kent Ridge Park is very beautiful with nice scenaries, we all ended up there instead.

Frankly i don't think there's any nice scenaries at Kent Ridge Park, I think the scenary below
my house looks nicer. =X Just joking. Perhaps i am simply not artistically inclined lar. Ok, there are many trees over at KR Park that's like a miniature forest. But what's special is that there is this long suspending bridge from the park that leads to this little museum, called the Reflections of Bukit Chandu.

Pictures courtesy of www.pbase.com/cajuca/places & rmbr.nus.edu.sg/fos75/

Many trees along this canopy walk

The long suspending bridge, measured 280 metres long

Reflections of Bukit Chandu

The front of the museum at night

My dad is someone who has always been fascinated with history and is obsessed with our Singapore history as well. And.... that's how the whole family ended up taking a social studies lesson in the museum. =S

The last (and probably one of my first) time we went to visit the museum was about 2-3 years ago. At that time, they were having this event (which i can't rem what..) that allows all visitors to enter ANY museum FREE!!!

Needless to say, we went to visit all the museums on that one day.. =D

Back to today's visit, it is a relatively smaller museum as compared to the others that i have visited. It mainly shows exhibits from the Japanese Occupation in Singapore back in 1940s. While the facts are still fresh in my memory, here's a little short and sweet history lesson for you guys... ^_^

Year 1942

7th Feb -- The Japanese had a nice strategy. They first attacked Pulau Ubin. Then all our ancestors went to stand by in the East

8th Feb -- But the Japs attacked from the North-West instead, and we were caught totally unaware.

9-12th Feb -- The Western, Northern and Eastern parts of Singapore are taken by the Japanese Imperial Troops.

13th Feb -- The only area left is the Pasir Panjang area (where the Kent Ridge Park & this museum is currently at), where it's the last defence as well as the last hope for Singapore then.

The Japanese disguised themselves, and attacked quietly. But Lt. Adnan Saidi saw through their disguise and commanded to open fire. Killed 20+ Japanese soldiers. This angered them, and both sides put on a fierce battle.

14th Feb -- Lt. Adnan Saidi was captured and died horribly under the hands of the Japanese. The Japs then proceeded to invade the Alexandra Hospital (then known as the British Military Hospital) and brutally massacred about 150 patients, doctors and nurses. (Some were defenselessly lying on the operating table when the soldiers charged in and killed them!! *Angered!!*)

15th Feb -- The start of the Japanese Occupation campaign, as well as the first day of the Chinese lunar new year. To many war survivors who lost their loved ones on that fateful day, the Chinese Lunar New Year no longer brings to them festival mood. They simply have too much painful memories to grieve on this day....

Within a short period of 8 days, Singapore the "impregnable fortress" fell easily into the clutches of the Japs. The British and Australians did not really put much resistance against the Japanese back then. Lesson learnt: Never be too dependent on outsiders for your own defence.

Oops... Sorry, I've gotten a little too emotional here. But i always do whenever i read about the Singapore history from my Social Studies textbook. It's hard not to be when history textbooks, teachers and museums are always there to remind me of how Singaporeans were once brutally treated by the Japanese. Oh ya, and my luo suo grandma too. She is like one of the survivors of the war too.. Haha... She often told me of the things they did to escape from the soldiers. Like applying charcoal on their faces to avoid being captured and tortured (you shd noe wad kinda torture i'm toking about here=( ), holding their breaths when the Japanese planes flew by, bribing the Japs with gold jewelleries and so on... She also witnessed one of her neighbours being captured, brutally raped and killed (even after she had applied charcoal and worn large clothes), while my grandma and her sisters were hiding behind some sacks and barrels. My grandma had to watch the whole episode without making a single sound, and when the poor girl died, she's only in her 20s............

So if you ask me if i am anti-japanese, i would say not really. Because after all, the younger generations have nothing to do with what happened back then. And i do not really hate them actually. But, i can't say i like them either... Thus, this will probably be a clearer explanation to some of you why I'm not really enthusiastic about Japanese dramas, movies, culture and language... So.....

Stop pestering me to watch Japanese dramas or learn Jap lang again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hahahaha.........

Ok, something nice for those of you who bothered to read till here....

Oh err.. only for those who likes English songs... hehe...

Here's the site where i often got to know of the American hits chart. It's pretty useful to me cos i don't listen to radio, yet i'm still in tune to the latest and most popular hits. haha!

To WS: Actually I really hated Promiscuous when i first downloaded that song one, and i thought what bad taste WS has!! Until... lately i've started to tap to its rhythm....

Shux!

hahaha... okok, thx anw!!! =X

Happy, Sha La La La~

Just came back from basketball just now... and now i'm feeling so shagged..

But today not bad.. because most of the experty ones were not here today. So i got my hands on the ball more often!! And miraculously my ball went in the hoop a few times!!! Wahahhahahaa... (It's consdered rare, especially since i'm an 運動白吃 -- sports idiot.)

Know a few more people too... The seniors there are quite nice people! =D

Oh yar, just realised i have a very common face after i entered NUS. I've always thought my face features are quite unique until today... =( The first time i had people telling me that i look like someone they know was when i was in the CNM camp last year. One guy told me i look like his friend in JC.

Then the second was last 2 weeks, when i saw this girl in my last sociology tutorial. She kept telling me that she'll consider joining netball.. which i'm like.. "???"

When she realised that she got the wrong person, she told me that she thought i was this girl who keeps persuading her to join netball...

Today at basketball, 2 Year 1 girls from different faculties and from different JCs came telling me they saw me before in their JCs... I'm like "??????????????????????"

And i thought i had a one-of-a-kind face!!!!! HaiZ... Why did God or whoever in charge made so many carbon copies of me???!! =(

But there's once when JX told me that her classmate commented that i looked like Kelly Chen~!!!! WAhahahhahaa.... =D So DamN HaPpIE!!! HEeZ...

So anyway i'm quite happy today, happy even though one of my Nike shoe soles got peeled off halfway the game...

Hope that basketball training would be like this every week~!!! ^_^

Happy, Sha La La La...
It's so nice to be happy! Sha La La La La~~
